WOODLAWN — Thomas Automation Management’s (TAM) open house on Oct. 30 celebrated continued growth with its new 10,800 square foot manufacturing and technology center. Officials on hand stressed TAM will be an important part of stopping Carroll County’s “brain drain.”

The Crossroads Institute 10th Anniversary

GALAX (WSLS 10) – Crossroads Institute in Galax celebrated its tenth anniversary with a ceremony Tuesday morning.

The business incubator has created and retained nearly 1,000 jobs since it launched in 2005. That has reduced the region’s unemployment numbers by almost three percent.

 

Crossroads serves Grayson and Carroll counties, as well as the city of Galax.

So far, it has helped more than 500 new businesses.

Crossroads Institute leaders want to target the nearly 10,000 people in Grayson and Carroll counties that have been unable to complete their college degrees.
